After receiving information on Friday, December 30, 2022, regarding a Wilson Independent School District employee allegedly having inappropriate interactions with high school students, WISD administration immediately contacted the Lynn County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services to begin an investigation.
The school employee has been placed on administrative leave for the duration of the investigation.
Superintendent JP Portillo wants to assure students and families that the safety and well-being of the WISD students are the top priority of the administration and staff.

While most here at Wilson ISD did not know Coach Hoover, but the ones that did have interactions knew Coach Hoover loved his students and athletes. In West Texas, and Region 17 we may have rivalries, but when something bad happens to one of our communities, we come together. So, in support of Coach Hoover and the Hoover family, please wear purple tomorrow in honor of Coach Hoover. Prayers and thoughts to your family.

City of Wilson currently under a boil notice until further notice.
