I am super excited to kick off Basketball season with Varsity tonight. I hope we have the community fill the stands to cheer for us. The girls have been working super hard this past week. We have some new shoes to show off. I want to congratulate our team captains. We have Senior Gabi and Junior Kaylee! I believe these two will serve as great captains with excellent leadership skills. Let’s congratulate these two athletes and we look forward to seeing you tonight at 5pm as we take on Cotton Center.

Coach Grahn and I are excited to announce the Ball girl and Boy for this week.
Quetzaly Gonzalez, she was nominated by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Grahn. They both told us that she is always very respectful and a hard working student. She will join Varsity on the bench for Friday’s game at 5pm. Way to go, Quetzaly!
Alan was nominated by both Mrs Smith and Mrs Grahn. They indicate he is a joyful Mustang eager to help! He will join the boys game on Tuesday at 5. Way to go, Alan!

Secondary lunch is from 12:20 P.M to 12:50 P.M.
Tickets will be $8 if purchased ahead of time.
Cash can be sent to the teacher.
Venmo is @wilsonisd1. Cards can be used but only on the day of the lunch.
If you buy tickets the day of it is $10.
You will go to the cafeteria first to collect your meal.
Overflow seating will be in the Admin building.

David Pantoja ran in the State Cross Country meet in Round Rock, TX this morning. He placed 27th out of 149 with a time of 17:57. Last year David was 65th with a time of 19:04. That improvement over a year is a result of hard work and determination. We are proud to call him a Wilson Mustang!
Congratulations to our pumpkin decorating contest winners! 1st place was Zay'leigh, 2nd place was Jaiden, and 3rd place was Kanoah! They were awarded for their creativity with a gift card.
We were very impressed with all the pumpkins and how hard our students worked on them.
We will send the pumpkins home with the kids. Any pumpkins not claimed by the end of the day tomorrow will be disposed of. Thank you all for participating and good luck next year!

Here is some information for Fall Festival tomorrow. A helpful map explaining all that we are offering tomorrow, and the menus for the food vendors. We would love to spend a beautiful fall evening with you tomorrow. The wind is supposed to drop and the air will be crisp!
On Thursday at 7:55 am we are sending our State Cross Country competitor, David Pantoja, off to Round Rock! We will send him off as a school. Complete with banners and hoops and hollers! If you would like to join and cheer with us come on down to the front of the school! Parents that are still dropping off at that time please be aware there will be students in front! Safety is the top priority. Go Mustangs and Go David!
Last night was a great 1st ever Senior night for Volleyball! Thank you ladies for your sacrifice and dedication on that court the past 4 years!
REMINDER: If you want your decorated pumpkin entered into the contest at Fall Festival it needs to be turned in by the end of the day tomorrow!
Join us tonight in the New Gym as we honor and celebrate the dedication of our Senior volleyball athletes. They will take on Loop at 5:00 PM and Senior Night activities will begin at 4:30.
At WISD's Fall Festival on Wednesday October 29th from 6-8pm there will be two amazing food vendors for the community to choose from. Sugar n' Sliced will have Brisket and home style options while Rivera and Sons will offer Burritos and Elote! Come out and enjoy what they have to offer in front of the New Gym during Fall Festival!
Red Ribbon week is next week! Dress up and have some fun all week long while learning!
Power is fully restored at the school. Buses will still run on that 2 hour delay with a 10AM start time. Go directly to your child's respective building. There will be no breakfast served. Secondary students will report to their 3rd period class and continue the schedule normally from there. See you all soon!
WISD is currently on a two hour delay. We will have a 10am start time today. The power is intermittent at this time. Buses will run two hours later than their normal times.

1st-5th grade's field trip to At'l Do Farms was way too much fun! The kids all went home with a pumpkin so decorate those guys and bring them on the 28th to be included in the Fall Festival pumpkin judging!
