Dr. John Horak, Superintendent

After serving as an educator in West Texas for 25 years, I am excited to be a part of Wilson ISD. Our team is committed to providing the students of Wilson an outstanding education. We are constantly striving to improve this great school system and make it even better. Many changes in education have taken place over the years since I began my career as a teacher at Monahans High School in 1986. During this career, I worked as a teacher for nine years gaining instructional expertise.  I then served as a principal for over a decade enjoying many years as the principal of an exemplary school. In 2008 I began working at the Region 18 Education Service Center training principals and superintendents in the Midland area.  School improvement is an area that I have 25 years of experience in and take very seriously.  After earning a doctorate in educational leadership from Texas Tech University in August 2012, this pursuit of improving our schools is my main priority. I am delighted about serving the Wilson ISD learning community and want everyone working toward what is best for our children.

Brenda Prather, Principal
 

My name is Brenda Prather and I am so excited to be at Wilson ISD. I have 11 years experience in education.  I have served as an elementary teacher, teacher leader, and adjunct principal at Wilson and I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve our students and staff as principal this year.  We are doing great things at Wilson ISD and  I am very dedicated and passionate about helping children and adults become successful, life-long learners. I am looking forward to having a wonderful year!!!
